Success Thought of the Day – 6/3/21

Self-Care is an act of courage. - James Rosseau, Sr.

I can personally attest to the importance of self-care.

My father’s passing was very significant to me after years of seeking validation from him. For years, I buffered my challenges underneath performance and other ways to seek that validation. However, I found that suppressing things really did not work. I was finally convinced to speak with a counselor. It was beneficial in several ways.

As I look at Naomi Osaka’s recent announcement to withdraw from the French Open and her comments about her recent history with depression, I am reminded of my counseling and the value of self-care. It is not taught enough, but I will tell you, you can best serve others and make the world better when you take care of yourself.
