Success Thought of the Day – 6/4/18 (#successtotd): Positive Mindset

The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.  – Winston Churchill

We have all heard the adage of “turning lemons into lemonade.”  Well, what does it mean and how does one do it?  Let’s start with what it means.

To get a “lemon” means to get an unexpected dud if you will.  To suffer a letdown or a setback, when you expected a victory.   To turn that into lemonade means to have a mindset of positivity that quickly assesses the situation with a focus on how to make the best out of the situation.  Thus, “I have lemons, I can make lemonade – – and lemonade tastes pretty good.”

The big idea is that we must have a positive mindset in order to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals.  Lemons (e.g. letdowns and setbacks) will come.  If not today, tomorrow or the next day.  However, some of the greatest opportunities for us are just beyond the obstacles.

Pursue your passion and persist with a positive mindset!
