Success Thought of the Day – 6/15/18 (#successtotd): The Art of Reinventing Ourselves

Over the years we have seen many people handle their lives in different ways.  Take careers for example.  John Travolta, an actor, had his first appearance in a TV series called Welcome Back Carter in 1975.   From there he spring-boarded on to the movie scene with Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Grease (1978).

He took some hits and could have called it quits, but instead, reinvented himself in the form of a different character in the movie Pulp Fiction (1994), and similarly in  Face/Off (1997), Swordfish (2001), Wild Hogs, and Hairspray (both 2007).

He has been nominated for and received numerous awards from Best Actor, to Outstanding Achievement, Primetime Emmy and more.  Over the past several years he added to his resume with the People v. O.J. Simpson and this year stars in “Gotti.”

Another that comes to mind is LL Cool J and Ice T, both reinventing themselves, moving from being rap artists to actors, extending their careers significantly.

In summary, reinvention is to be embraced.
