Success Thought of the Day – 10/11/21

Never stop chipping away at your masterpiece. - James B. Rosseau, Sr.

I participated in the Founders over 40 conference last week, sharing my story and lessons and learning from others. As Elizabeth Isele shared some of her work, she said, “I started that business when I was just 50 years old,” with such a vibrant tone.

Elizabeth, now eighty, had done several things, including founding SeniorEntrepreneurshipWorks in 2012 when she was 70 years old. Almost immediately, she became the go-to person for all things regarding senior and intergenerational entrepreneurship (programs, policy, capitalization, and research), including the Obama White House, US Congress, etc. A few years later, she expanded that work to found The Global Institute for Experienced Entrepreneurship.

The takeaway here is that Elizabeth found her passion. In her words, her passion is igniting an Experienced Economy by unleashing the potential of 50+ year-olds to drive economic markets and generate social and environmental impact. And she will seemingly never stop chipping away at that masterpiece.
