- Tailor your resume to the application. Much like your first job, your internship application should highlight practical skills that will make you a perfect fit for the position. Look for keywords in the top internship description and include those in your resume.
- Consider pre-internships. A pre-internship is a project-based position within a company. These are short-term and can fit easily into your semester’s workload. Although it’s not a full internship, it will still provide you with the experience you’re looking for.

You don’t know what you don’t know, and in this particular instance, it could cost you a great opportunity. So here is what not to do when applying for internships.
- Do not wait until the last minute. Remember, there are only a limited number of seats, so don’t procrastinate on this.
