Berry Gordy and others, such as Quincy Jones, were influential to me.  Earlier in my music life, I aspired to be “lead,” but I found more joy and natural ability as I helped others find their “voice.” It contributed to a powerful shift as I grew in leadership, increasingly learning how to be in service of others to make an impact.

The Miracles, the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Gladys Knight & the Pips, and Stevie Wonder may have never been known without Berry Gordy playing his role.

Consider who this world might miss if you don’t play your role.

Write, speak, sing or communicate in whatever form what has been given to you because someone needs it. Give your gift, free from the worry of acclaim.
