Go for yours without comparison to another’s and free from fear of scarcity. Live with abundance in mind.Competition can be a great motivator, but the best of all motivators is chasing your North Star.
The words written in today’s resumes and cover letters are still important, just know that after clicking to open those documents and scanning them, the next few clicks are most often to google to perform a search about you and then to your social media accounts.
The definition of “hard work” has changed a lot over the years in many areas with the advent of technology. Embracing technology is wonderful, but it can never replace a great work ethic.
Work towards integrating how you do right into your stream of activities. For example, you can mentor someone over lunch once a week. Another example is expanding your social media habits by finding new audiences (via hashtags or groups) aligned with your purpose, engaging and contributing.

Glass half full or glass half empty? Choose your approach and attitude now and then practice continually. There will be plenty of practice runs as challenges are a part of the journey.
Absent energy, there is no movement. I fully believe that the pursuit of your passion provides endless energy. When I teach classes around Success on Your Own Terms, one of the components I discuss is the Passion Point Incubator. It always draws a few chuckles … I get it, it sounds funny. However, an incubator’s job is to protect something that is early in its life and vulnerable until it has grown to a certain state (think eggs on a farm until the chicks hatch).
If you love what you do … take all the shots you can, as often as you can, for as long as you can.
Be a mentor and take someone with you so they can learn real-time. Change the game by using what you have learned to improve things for the next wave of folks coming after you.
